Bourdeau named 2022 Grand Marshal
Former educator and life long contributor to the Bacon County School District, Coach Joe Bourdeau has been named BCHS Homecoming Grand Marshal. Coach Joe Bourdeau is married to Coach Tanya Bourdeau and they have two children, Mary Mavis and Jeremy. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Alma. A native of Jeff Davis County, Coach Bourdeau became a Bacon County Red Raider in 1974. During his tenure at Bacon County High School, he has coached many years of football and tennis, one year of track, and one year of basketball. He retired from Bacon County School System in 2004 after 30 years of teaching. He returned in 2005 to teach 49% for 5 more years. Even after officially entering retirement, Coach Joe Bourdeau continues to coach the BCHS boys and girls tennis teams. In his spare time, Coach Bourdeau enjoys fishing, talking about fishing, and thinking about fishing when he is not doing the first two. He is the epitome of an educator dedicated to serving the students of Bacon County.
