Bacon County School District is actively celebrating National Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day, TODAY! Words could never "measure" how BC Proud we are to have these gentlemen on our team. Without them, we would be completely "broken."

All students within Bacon County School District will be issued a report card on March 19, 2025.

Congratulations to BC Raider Academy, March, Student of the Month, Mr. Connor Boatright. Conner was chosen for embodying Raider Academy Motto of Excellence; respect, and hard work. He is self-motivated and consistently exceeds his expected goals. He upholds high academic standards and is determined to develop into the best version of himself beyond high school. Raider Academy Coordinator, Mrs. Chandra Green shared, " When faced with challenges, Connor remains true to his values, refusing to be swayed by negative emotions. He is well deserving of the honor of being the March Student of the Month."

Southern Pines College and Career Academy (SPCCA) is an innovative educational collaboration designed to bridge the gap between high school and the workforce or higher education. Located in Baxley, Georgia, SPCCA is a partnership between the school systems of Appling, Bacon, and Jeff Davis counties, Coastal Pines Technical College (CPTC), and local businesses and industries. Their goal is to provide high school students with a clear pathway to success, whether they choose to enter the workforce directly or continue their education at a higher level. Open to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students from Appling, Bacon, and Jeff Davis counties, SPCCA offers dual enrollment programs that allow students to earn FREE college credit through CPTC. With bus transportation provided by the partnering school systems, students can easily commute to the SPCCA campus.
Their Spring 2025 enrollment has seen a significant increase, growing from 80 students in 2024 to 133 students in 2025.
One of the most successful tools for marketing and recruitment has been our student tours. Throughout the year, SPCCA hosts multiple tours, including the 8th graders from Bacon County Middle School. Touring SPCCA and CPTC helps students explore the available programs before they begin considering them in their 10th-grade year.

Congratulations to Mr. Ray Tucker, BCHS Class of 2025 STAR Student, and Mrs. Angela McLean who Mr. Tucker selected as this year's BCHS STAR Teacher. Both were honored and recognized last night, at the 2025 Citizen of the Year Banquet, hosted by the Alma Lyons Club.
Mr. Tucker expressed his heartfelt gratitude through a message he had written due to his absence. In this message, he shared the importance of putting others before yourself. He was unable to attend this event due to a prior obligation to his Varsity Raider Baseball team and a regional game that he felt he could not let his team down by missing.
Ray is most definitely a true star for his endless efforts in putting others before himself!

The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement released the CCRPI scores for the 23-24 school year. BCSD celebrates that ALL schools are ABOVE the state average and continue to excel in academic success!
