Be sure to mark your calendar & come out to support the BCHS HOSA Blood Drive! HOSA is working towards a goal of 30 units to qualify for a scholarship to gift to a senior who plans to continue in healthcare after graduation. They collected 22 units during their September drive & need your support & participation to meet their goal!

BCSD students participated in the Georgia Young Authors Writing Contest. Students competed while showcasing their creativity and skill in crafting original stories.
This year’s winners are Kindergarten: Jonesey Sermons, 1st Grade, Madaline Thomas, 2nd Grade, Oakley Feagle, 3rd Grade Briggs Rewis, 4th Grade Chet Sasser, and 5th Grade Rilyn Medders,.
The Georgia Young Authors Writing Contest is an annual writing contest that Georgia students K-12 can participate in through RESA. Participants are encouraged to submit their best original work, with winners advancing to compete at the district and state levels. Congratulations! We are BC Proud of our Red Raider Writers!

BCSD leaders were honored to receive an invitation to present at the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) Winter Conference this week. This team shared the instructional levers that continue moving Raiders Nation forward in academic success! We are BC Proud of the knowledge Bacon County could provide to other districts in our state!

The Georgia Association of Educational Leaders recognized Bacon County Schools with the 2024-2025 GAEL Vision Award. The Vision Award cites school systems that are committed to encouraging and supporting teachers, principals, and district office staff in professional learning‼ BCSD continues to grow BC Stronger each day with outstanding leadership, unity, and a vision of greatness from EVERYONE on our team‼

Bacon County Middle School recently received the Satilla REMC Smart Grant. Satilla REMC Foundation awarded $MART Grants to middle school media centers within their nine-county area.
The $MART Grant Program was implemented in 2009 to provide media and technology resources to primary, elementary, and middle school media centers. These funds will be used to purchase books, computers, and other technology for our students.
Since 2009, The Satilla REMC Foundation has awarded over $300,000 to primary, elementary, and middle schools in Satilla’s service area in $MART Grants. We are extremely grateful to Satilla REMC for contributing to the education of our local students.

Title 1 Distinguished Schools are Title 1 schools that rank in the top 5% Schoolwide Program in the state and have the highest absolute performance for the all-students group based on combined ELA and Math content mastery scores for the 2023 year. BCPS Principal Julie Taylor and BCES Principal Darrell Ellis were both presented with a sign and a certificate signed by State Superintendent, Richard Woods, during the January, Board of Education meeting. Georgia Department of Education Title 1 Program, celebrates the accomplishments of Georgia’s Title 1 Distinguished Schools. Congratulations to outstanding leaders and thank you for your dedication to providing the students of Bacon County with a phenomenal education.
