BCMS Receives Smart Grant

Bacon County Middle School recently received the Satilla REMC Smart Grant. Satilla REMC Foundation awarded $MART Grants to middle school media centers within their nine-county area.
The $MART Grant Program was implemented in 2009 to provide media and technology resources to primary, elementary, and middle school media centers. These funds will be used to purchase books, computers, and other technology for our students.
Since 2009, The Satilla REMC Foundation has awarded over $300,000 to primary, elementary, and middle schools in Satilla’s service area in $MART Grants. We are extremely grateful to Satilla REMC for contributing to the education of our local students.

Bacon Primary & Bacon Elementary Named Title 1 Distinguished Schools for 2024

Title 1 Distinguished Schools are Title 1 schools that rank in the top 5% Schoolwide Program in the state and have the highest absolute performance for the all-students group based on combined ELA and Math content mastery scores for the 2023 year. BCPS Principal Julie Taylor and BCES Principal Darrell Ellis were both presented with a sign and a certificate signed by State Superintendent, Richard Woods, during the January, Board of Education meeting. Georgia Department of Education Title 1 Program, celebrates the accomplishments of Georgia’s Title 1 Distinguished Schools. Congratulations to outstanding leaders and thank you for your dedication to providing the students of Bacon County with a phenomenal education.
