BCSD Board Members joined Bacon Elementary fifth-grade students and their families for a Thanksgiving feast, today. Our district is very blessed to be supported by amazing parents, students, and leaders! Happy Thanksgiving!

During the month of October, Bacon Primary chose to present an award for two or fewer checkouts.
Every second that a student is absent from their daily instruction is crucial to their success.
With 528 out of 579 students achieving this, Mrs. Loretta Miles, mother of a BCPS student, was the lucky winner of a gift card donated by Carver Drug Company.

BCSD Nutrition Department has worked overtime during the month of November. These ladies are such a great team! They have pulled together, coming from all three schools, to help the one who would host lunch on that day. We are very THANKFUL for them!

Congratulations to our BCHS students and team member whose names were drawn from the 59 ninth-grade, 65 tenth-grade, 46 eleventh-grade, and 53 twelfth-grade students who had NO UNEXCUSED ABSENCES throughout the entire month of October. (9th) Kylee Palmer, (10th) Cheyeane Jones, (11th) Saryiah Mitchell, (12th) Savanna Taylor (not pictured), and (BCHS Team Member) Kristin Straub. Presenting them with their reward are members of the BCHS Attendance Support Team and Bacon County BOE Student Success Coordinator, Bryan Taylor. We are very proud of the commitment each one has put forth to better their education and prove their commitment by being present each day. Education is important and ATTENDANCE MATTERS in order to be successful.
A special thanks to our Attendance Partner, The Rock Worship Center who provided our student/staff rewards for October 2023. We are BC Proud of you all!!

Once a month at BCES, two teachers are nominated by their peers, admin, and/or ICs for going above and beyond their expected duties. For the month of October, 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Channing Deen, and 4th grade teacher Ms. Joanna Milton were named as "Sunshine Award" winners. These teachers received a goody bag, and preferential parking for the month of November! Congratulations to you both! Please know you are appreciated!
