BCSD's Newest Security
Bacon County School District’s top priority is the safety of students and staff.
During the November 2023 Board of Education monthly meeting, Board members approved the position of an additional School Resource Officer (SRO). This position would allow an SRO to be at all four schools at all times, rather than commuting between each of them throughout the day. On Jan 4, 2024, Bacon Primary students returned from Christmas break to a new face.
BCSD’s newest team member of security is Officer Keith Hill.
Officer Hill, previously held the title of Chief of Security, and recently retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections after thirty years of service.
While ensuring everyone is safe, he also shared that his personal goal throughout each day is to be a positive role model for students and remind them, that cops are good guys they should feel comfortable approaching.
Officer Hill arrives each morning eager to receive his daily high-fives, knuckle bumps, hugs, and hundreds of smiles. He and his wife of twenty-eight years, Angela, together have four children who have attended, or are currently attending, Bacon County Schools. In addition, they share three beautiful granddaughters who will one day attend Bacon Primary, knowing their Papa is keeping them safe.
