BCMS and BCHS FFA members recently took part in their annual "Pig Pickin". Each year FFA hosts an after-school event for their club members filled with lots of fun, food, and time for them all to fellowship. BCMS FFA Advisor, Mr. Edmund Thrift, estimated a total of 85-90 Middle and High school members were in attendance. An excellent time was had by all. Outstanding job by all who made this event possible.

Using Descriptive Statistics allows students to better understand how this world operates. At BCMS, you will find that students are developing in many areas
by being able to effectively conduct research, by being able to read and evaluate journal articles, by creating a visual for comparison, and so much more. Statistics also allow them to further develop critical thinking and analytic skills.

At Bacon County Middle School, eighth-grade students in Mrs. Mullis and Mrs. Dial’s English and Language Arts class, work collaboratively in small groups/target groups. This learning process consists of students and teachers dividing into “Small Groups” during instruction. Small groups allow students and teachers more one one-on-one time together as they break down individual obstacles each of them may face, while also learning and building alongside their peers during group discussions. An excellent demonstration of teamwork by BCMS, as they target and conquer barriers each individual student may face.

All Bacon County School District schools will dismiss students early, TODAY, Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the following times; BCPS- Pickup Students: 12:20 pm, Bus Riders: 12:30 pm, BCES- ALL Students: 12:42, BCMS- ALL Students: 12:50, and BCHS: ALL Students: 1:00pm.
Following student dismissal, Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held 2:30pm-5:30pm, TODAY, Thursday, October 12, 2023, at ALL BCSD schools.
October 13-16, 2023, ALL BCSD schools and the Board of Education will observe the scheduled Fall Break holiday.
Students/Staff should plan to return to their routine schedule following Fall Break.

Endless dedication was displayed by these five Bacon Primary second-grade students who achieved their goal of reading the most in their grade, during the month of September.

Congratulations to each of these hardworking BCES students who received the "Most Words Read Award", in their homerooms for September 2023!
Each student received a free book of their choice from the BCES Bookworm Vending machine, as well as a snack to enjoy with their story!

A total of 20 BCMS/BCHS student FFA exhibits were delivered to the Georgia National Fair in Perry, last week.
Today these students attended FFA Day, to compete in a variety of competitions and were able to view the results of their hard work at the state level!
