Bacon Primary named these students "Raider Kids" for this past month‼️ Raider Kids are selected for doing something positive that makes them stand out from the rest of the crowd. These students were noticed by their teachers for giving a little extra while always being, "Ready, Respectful, and Responsible" and walking the "Raider Way" throughout the month‼️ Excellent job, Girls & Guys‼️

On Friday, February 10, 2023, Bacon County High School senior, Dylan Dixon, officially accepted an offer from South Georgia State College that commits him to run on their men's Cross Country team in the fall. Dylan has been an athlete in the Bacon County School System for many years. His coaches describe him as self-motivated and driven to get what he wants. In his most recent season, Dylan won the Cross Country Region Championship. Not only is he an exceptional athlete, but also an exceptional student. Dylan plans to major in Computer Science. Dylan is the son of Leah and Shane Peacock and David Dixon.

In Mr. Brent Johnson's Engineering pathway, his students do lots of lessons that require hands-on learning. During this scaffolded lesson, students use critical thinking and research skills to determine how a specific form of technology is evolved. Working with a partner or small group, students then create a rough draft drawing and a tangible structure of their highlighted technology‼️

BCHS US History students recently spent a block exploring the Louisiana Territory and re-enacting Thomas Jefferson’s historical Louisiana Purchase. Also involved were Napoleon and Lewis and Clark‼️ We are overjoyed to see our students having fun while learning‼️We are #BCProud!!

The BCMS Livestock Judging team recently placed 5th in the Area 6 Contest. The team had to evaluate 6 classes of swine, beef cattle, sheep, and goats on quality and place them.They also had to give one set of oral reasons and take a test concerning breeds of livestock. Laney Ahl was 12th high individual and Mason Johnson was 14th out of 88 FFA members competing‼️ Outstanding job by our BCMS FFA‼️

BCMS/BCHS Steel Drummers are preparing to perform at the annual Steel Drum Festival hosted by Lowndes County High, March 25th. This is not a vendor event. This event will be filled with steel drummers from Georgia & Florida. It is open to the public and will be music to your ears! We highly encourage you to attend & support our Raiders!!

Miss Bailee Baltimore, PreK teacher is showing her students how to grow a plant from a cut up piece of potato. Each child planted their potato in soil. Now they're watching to see what happens.
