Today, Mrs. Julia Merritt and her Bacon Primary second grade students, took part in a one of a kind, math game show to prepare for tomorrow’s assessment! Children are learning, even when you aren't teaching. Make learning fun!! Awesome job Mrs. Merritt & Class!

Georgia 4-H empowers youth to learn, discover and create to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. Each month Mrs. Becky Griffin, Bacon County 4-H Agent, visits our schools with a new and fun way to learn! During January, BCES 5th grade students practiced writing speeches and presented them while standing in front of a class full of their peers.Cloverleaf Project Achievement allows a student to choose an area of interest, research a topic, then write and present an oral presentation to others. This process is about hands-on learning, self confidence, and sharing knowledge. Competition begins at school. Contact our local extension office if your child is interested in public speaking.

BCES loves rewarding students for their hard work and achievements! Besides, who doesn't love an ice cream sundae??
At BCES, when students experience challenges in ELA, they move into a differentiated intervention program. This program is a proactive measure to insure our students' success inside and outside of the classroom.
The students are pulled several times a week into a small class where the curriculum is designed to take each student's weakness, provide tools, and strategies to change the weakness to a strength.
Reaching their goals, these students have successfully completed their intervention program! We love to celebrate student success!

Bacon Elementary fourth grade students are studying balanced and unbalanced forces in science class. As an activity, teachers, and students held an arm wrestling competition to demonstrate the two forces. If they were tied then they were equal forces that were balanced. If there was a winner, that person had more force, making them unbalanced forces.

Fifth Grade students at BCES are excited to begin their new novel "The Westing Game'', by Ellen Raskin. This novel won the Newberry Medal, it includes mystery, figurative language, and is guaranteed to capture their attention!

BCHS US Historians recently learned about taxation with Froot Loops. They learned firsthand why the colonists were ready for the American Revolution and Independence‼️ Phenomenal job, developing unique teaching methods to keep your students engaged, BCHS!!

Ashley Ramey from Coastal Pines Technical College, visited BCHS students who are currently enrolled in Healthcare Science with Ms. Christi Medders'. She took time and thoroughly discussed Dual Enrollment opportunities for BCHS Healthcare students. Dual Enrollment, when mentioned at BCHS, is referring to all students who are enrolled in two separate, academically related institutions. BCHS students who are in dual enrollment are taking classes at both BCHS as well as a college or technical facility to learn a trade or obtain a degree in a career they plan to pursue after graduation!
