The GSBA Board Recognition Program is a three-tier process to achieve the highest level in board governance. The three recognition levels are Quality, Distinguished and Exemplary, with Exemplary being the highest level. Such an honorable award and achievement to be named the highest level, Exemplary Board for the SEVENTH consecutive year. Board members were presented their award and recognized by all in attendance at the January, Board of Education monthly meeting. We are beyond thankful for each of our Board Members and their endless dedication to the children of Bacon County.

January 17th, Bacon County Board of Education held their first monthly board meeting of the 2023 physical year. January began Ms. Stephanie Wright's term as District 2 School Board Representative. Knowing the education and wellbeing of our students are her top priority, we are very excited to welcome Ms. Wright to the BC team‼️

BCMS/BCHS Raider Regiment Band Director, Mr. Will Garrett attended the Florida Music Educator Conference, hosted by FMEA this past week. While Georgia does host an annual Music Educator Conference, Mr. Garrett said he was drawn to take part in Florida’s Conference for many reasons, with one being the outstanding professional learning opportunities he and his Raider Regiment students would benefit from. Among the many in attendance, Mr. Garrett was overjoyed at the knowledge that was shared by LSU Band Director, Kelvin Jones. The number of BCMS/BCHS students in our Raider Regiment Band continues to grow as well as their knowledge in fine arts and performances. BCSD is grateful for Mr. Garrett for his endless hours, hard work, and commitment to our BCMS/BCHS students!

Kindergarten students read about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. They made Martin and wrote about his dream. "Martin's dream was for people to live together without being mean." Happy Birthday Martin ❤️

BCHS Spanish students participated in an activity in which the class tells the Torero and Toro how to move to pose like famous bullfighting suertes in Spanish.
