BCMS/BCHS Events Schedule for October 03-08, 2022!

Thursday, October 27th, BCHS BETA, FCCLA, HOSA, Student Council, TSA, BCHS Football Cheerleaders, BCHS Baseball Team, and Bacon County Raider Regiment Band & Auxiliary, will be hosting Trunk or Treat, along with a food drive for our local food bank. Please bring your children to the BCHS parking lot from 6pm-7:30pm to experience a phenomenal event while benefiting those less fortunate.

October 3, 2022, is National Custodian Day. BCSD takes pride in the clean, healthy environment that is provided to our students by the KBS staff. Today we celebrate their hard word and dedication to our schools!

The month of October is Principal and Assistant Principal Appreciation Month. BCSD is grateful for our UNBELIVABLY AMAZING Administration!

Twice each year, Farm Bureau, Alma visits Bacon Primary to gift the second grade students plants for their very own gardens. These students learn the process of planting and constantly caring for a garden of their own. Thank you Farm Bureau & Mrs. Sarah Walker for always helping our students blossom

The BCMS FFA Environmental Natural Resource team recently placed second at the Area 6 contest at Coffee Middle. The purpose of the Environmental/Natural Resources CDE is to acquaint students with the different areas of the Natural Resources that are found throughout the State and to foster skill development in each student’s chosen area of study. The team members each had to identify 50 items and complete a GPS activity within the time limit. The team placed 2nd out of 15 teams. Hutto placed 2nd out of 55 students competing.

September 27, 2022, the BCHS Lady Raiders took on a double header against Pelham High. With two successful victories BC was named the 2022-23 1-A Division 1 Region Champions!

Former educator and life long contributor to the Bacon County School District, Coach Joe Bourdeau has been named BCHS Homecoming Grand Marshal. Coach Joe Bourdeau is married to Coach Tanya Bourdeau and they have two children, Mary Mavis and Jeremy. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Alma. A native of Jeff Davis County, Coach Bourdeau became a Bacon County Red Raider in 1974. During his tenure at Bacon County High School, he has coached many years of football and tennis, one year of track, and one year of basketball. He retired from Bacon County School System in 2004 after 30 years of teaching. He returned in 2005 to teach 49% for 5 more years. Even after officially entering retirement, Coach Joe Bourdeau continues to coach the BCHS boys and girls tennis teams. In his spare time, Coach Bourdeau enjoys fishing, talking about fishing, and thinking about fishing when he is not doing the first two. He is the epitome of an educator dedicated to serving the students of Bacon County.
