BCSD, Mr. Jordan McGuire, was selected and honored as BCSD, District Teacher of the Year, at the BC BOE, September monthly board meeting. Mr. McGuire is head of the science department at BCHS. He has also been selected by his students as Star Teacher, among many other honors. Mr. McGuire is now eligible to compete for State of Georgia, Teacher of the Year.

BCSD is honored to have the most amazing faculty. These ladies and gentleman were recognized as the teachers and support staff of the 2022-23 SY, during the Board of Education, September monthly meeting. Teachers included; BCPS-Julie Lee, BCES- Myesha Bizzell, BCMS-Lisa Ivey, BCHS-Jordan McGuire. Support Staff of the Year included; BCPS-Crystal Lee, BCES-Renee Chancey, BCMS- Christy Griffin, BCHS-Amanda Williams (Not Pictured).

BCHS students in Mr. Jimmy Scott’s Animal Science Class, created replicas of cattle skeletons using various types of pastas. While forming the skeletons, students gained knowledge of the important roles that each part plays.

Monday, September 19th,BCMS, sixth grade students in Ms. Bennett’s class were learning the importance of exercising their right to vote using the icivics.org website.

Wednesday, September 21st, Satilla REMC representative, Andy Varnedore, presented a lesson on safety and caution when working around electrical currents, which is a 5th grade Georgia Science Standard. Students listened and watched as Mr. Varnedore used real life problems in the lesson, and his model demonstrated a live current, and the safety precautions used daily.

Georgia Army National Guard recruiters Sergeant First Class Thomas Deane and Specialist Ethan Hitchner meet with BCHS students about career, education, and service opportunities in the Army National Guard. Mr. Swanson, who is an officer in the Georgia Army National Guard, as well as a History teacher at BCHS, looks on and assists.
